Overview

CoolSculpting® Elite is a non-invasive fat-reduction (cryolipolysis) system that uses controlled cooling to selectively reduce localised fat. It comprises a control unit and detachable applicators connected by umbilicals, allowing two applicators to run simultaneously, alongside supplies such as treatment cards, gelpads and skin wipes. It's a long-established platform used in non-surgical body-contouring clinics.

About CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting® is owned and marketed by Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company. The technology is based on cryolipolysis, first developed by ZELTIQ Aesthetics, and works by cooling subcutaneous tissue to selectively target fat cells (adipocytes), which are more sensitive to cold than the surrounding skin, muscle, and nerve tissue.

Certification

The CoolSculpting Elite System received US FDA 510(k) clearance on 21 January 2020 and was first CE marked in Europe in November 2020. The wider CoolSculpting platform holds multiple separate FDA clearances covering different treatment areas, including the flanks, abdomen, thighs, arms, and submental/submandibular areas. As a CE-marked medical device sold in the UK, it falls under MHRA regulation; UKCA marking status should be confirmed with the seller for units placed on the GB market after the CE/UKCA transition.

Compatible with

Applicators are generation-specific. Elite applicators were redesigned from the original CoolSculpting applicators to support simultaneous dual use - do not assume cross-compatibility between Classic and Elite applicators without confirming with the seller or manufacturer.
